Obituary for Connie J. Chambers




Connie J. Chambers, 77, formerly of Vincennes, passed away Tuesday February 13, 2024 at The Villages at Oak Ridge in Washington, IN. Connie was born August 30, 1946 in Sullivan, IN the daughter of Kenneth R. and Dorthy J. Field Cox. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Indiana Beauty College. She worked as a hairdresser most of her life having retired from Sodexo at Vincennes University. She held memberships in the First Baptist Church in Vincennes and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.


Connie is survived by her children, Donetta J. Gray, and her husband Scott of Lawrenceville, IL, Tracey Johnson of Attica, IN and Ralph T. Chambers, and his wife Cindy of Decker, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeffery Lawrence Jr, Tyler Lawrence, Rob Hathaway, Taylor Bezy, Tanner Bezy, Nichole Johnson, Eldena Chambers and Thomas Chambers and 14 great grandchildren.


A Celebration of her Life will be held Sunday February 18, 2024 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Chambers family during their time of loss.
