Obituary for Steven R. Earhart
Steven R. Earhart, 67, of Vincennes, passed away Saturday December 16, 2017 at his residence with his family at his bedside. Steven was born May 25, 1950 in Terre Haute, IN the son of Carroll R. and Lois E. Davidson Earhart. He was a graduate of North Knox High School and Vincennes University. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at the U.S. Post Office and attended the Word of Life Church in Bicknell. He was a member of the American Legion, Bicknell Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He enjoyed playing poker, bowling and his dogs, Corky and Tanner that was his boys. He was married to Vickie VanMatre.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Earhart, children, Crystal Earhart of Fishers, IN and Leah Chanley, and her husband Ian of Vincennes, IN. Grandchildren, Lydian Chanley and Aria Chanley, his brother Randy L. Earhart, and his wife Beryl of Bicknell and a sister, Nancy Earhart of Bicknell, IN.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle M. Earhart, his parents, Carroll and Lois Earhart and a brother, Donnie Earhart.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Tuesday December 19, 2017 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Jon McKinnon officiating. He will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery with gravesite military honors presented by the All Weather Firing Squad. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM when the services will start. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Good Samaritan Hospice.
The honor to assist with arrangements were entrusted to Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home.
