Obituary for Sylvia L. Howder
Sylvia L. Howder, 89, of Vincennes, passed away at 2:30 PM February 1, 2024 at Bridge Pointe Health Campus. Sylvia was born April 18, 1934 in Vincennes, IN the daughter of John and Nora Edith White Webber. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and was a lifelong member of Bunker Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed anything to do with family gatherings, an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting. She married Jack Howder on June 1, 1952 and they made their life together for 39 years until his death on December 22, 1991.
Sylvia is survived by her family, son Tim Howder, and his wife Linda of Norman, IN, her daughter in law, Jana Howder of Bruceville, IN, a brother Claude Webber, and his wife Nedra of Knobnoster, MO and her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Howder, her children Pastor Jay Howder, Cheryl Howder and Kathy Henderson. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sister, Norman Webber, Ralph Webber, Floyd Webber, Orville Webber, John Webber Jr., Harlan Webber, Dan Webber, James Webber, Dewey Webber and her sister Delphia Pinkstaff.
Funeral services will be held Sunday February 4, 2024 at 7:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jack Howder in Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday privately. The family will receive friends on Sunday February 4, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Bunker Hill Baptist Church. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Howder family during their time of loss.
