Obituary for Wilma M. “Primus” Petty
Wilma M. “Primus” Petty, 75, of Vincennes, passed away Friday October 27, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside. She was born May 13, 1942 in Vincennes the daughter of Meinrad F. and Ruth Holscher Primus. She was a 1960 graduate of St. Rose Academy and Vincennes Beauty College. She worked for J.C. Penny, a Beautician and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, K of C Auxiliary and the Wabash Homemakers. She married Larry Pettty on July 24, 1965 and they made their life together for 51years until his death on July 28, 2016.
She is survived by her children, Larry Christopher Petty and his wife Karen of Scottsburg, IN, Terry Lee Petty, and his wife Paige of Lawrenceville, IL, Celana Marie Cochren, and her husband Michael of Princeton, IN and Chad Edward Petty, and his wife Lori of Vincennes. Her grandchildren, Kyli Petty, Grant Petty, Ethan Cochren, Sydney Petty, Alexia Petty, Dylan Petty, Chase Petty, Reagan Cochren and Seth Cochren. She is also survived by her brothers, Sonny Primus, and his wife Sandy of Vincennes, Merle Halter and his wife Eileen of North Platte, NE and Randy Halter, and his wife Debbie of Daytona, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday October 31, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church with Fr. David Fleck officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday October 30, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at the Duesterberg Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice.
