Obituary for James L. Rice
James L. Rice, 85, formerly of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away July 18, 2012 in Temple, TX. He was born January 17, 1927 in Richland County, IL, the son of Charles M. & Opal Blue Rice. He was a career meat cutter/butcher for various groceries in the area and he retired from Harold’s grocery. He married Mary D. Williams on October 29, 1966 and they made their life together for nearly 46 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary D. Rice of Temple, TX, his sisters, Mary E. Mayfield of Buckholts, TX, Doris Acree of Granbury, TX and Naomi Brown of Hoalt, MI. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Lands.
A gravesite service will be conducted on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Park Cemetery with Deacon Earl Ruppel officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service in Memorial Park Cemetery.
