Obituary for Allen Dale Overton Allen D. Overton, 78, of Bicknell, IN passed away Saturday evening at his home with his family at his bedside. He was born October 5, 1937 in Stewartsville, IN the son of William Edgar and Audrey Leona Fisher Overton. He married Marietta Anderson on December 24, 1956 and they made their life together for nearly 60 years. He worked at Prestolite Battery and owned Hoosier Battery and traded in automobiles, motorcycles and lawn mowers. He was a member of the Bicknell Nazarene Church and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his wife, Marietta Overton, their children, Rhonda Rinsch of Bicknell, David Overton, and his wife Melissa of Bicknell, Gary Overton of Ball Ground, GA and Cheryl Kendrix, and her husband Dave of Clarksville, Ga., his grandchildren Crystal Jones, Chris Overton, Wesley Overton, Ashley Overton, Ryan Overton, Jessica Frady and Michael Siscel and 12 Great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Tom Overton, and his wife Shirley of Stewartsville, IN, Maxine Peerman, and her husband Bill of Poseyville, IN, Kenneth Overton of Mt. Vernon, IN, Janet Staley of Poseyville, IN and Connie Woods of Bristol, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 Brothers, John William Overton, Malcolm Overton, Carroll Gene �Toadie� Overton and 2 Sisters, Ida Blaylock and Vera Thompson. Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday October 6, 2016 at 11: 00 AM at the Bicknell Nazarene Church with Pastor Bryan Solomon officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Bethsaida Cemetery in Stewartsville, IN. The family will receive friends Wednesday October 5, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel, Bicknell and an hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Gravesite services will take place at Bethsaida Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Thursday. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Bicknell Nazarene Church.
