Obituary for Ancile L. Wampler Ancile L. Wampler, 85, of Bicknell passed away March 3, 2016 at 9:32 PM at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. He was born November 29, 1930 in Bicknell, IN the son of Clyve A. �Pete� and Irene Deal Wampler. He was a farmer all of his life and formerly worked for 15 years at the Knox County Highway and for 4 years at the Indiana State Highway Depts. He married Mildred Ruth Carrico on August 21, 1954 and she preceded him on July 3, 1997. He formerly was a member of Asbury Chapel Methodist Church and was a devoted Father and Grandfather. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports and 4-H. He is survived by his children, Kim Wampler and his wife Carol of Westphalia, IN, and Bonnie Brown and her husband Bruce of Vincennes, IN. His grandchildren, Scott Wampler, Carrie Horton and her husband Tanner, Emily Brown and his great grandson, Carson Wampler. He is also survived by his companion, Susan Tincher of Bicknell, IN, his brother John Wampler of Bicknell, his sisters, Dora Mae Taylor of Freetown, IN, Nancy E. Cook of Bloomington, IN and Cheryl D. McKinley and her husband Vic of Albany, Ga. He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother Charles F. Wampler A celebration of his life will be conducted Monday March 7, 2016 at 7 :00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Rev. Cheryl Garbe officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until the time of services at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel. Interment will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Knox County Fair, The St. Philip Neri Catholic Church or to the Community United Methodist Church.
