Obituary for Andrea Sunalee Mattingly

Andrea Sunalee Mattingly, 41 of Monroe City, IN passed away October 2, 2023. Sunalee was born December 20, 1981 in Vincennes the daughter of Lisa Abel Alton and Kim Alton. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and received a Bachelor of Science in robotics engineering. She worked for R&E Automation. She was married to Denny “JR” Mattingly Jr.


She is survived by her husband, JR Mattingly, step daughters, Brylee Mattingly, Aria Mallory and Ava Lee. She is also survived by her brother, Andrew J. Grein M.D. of Hendersonville, NC and a half brother, Daniel Alton of Bloomington, IN. She will be missed by her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.


A gathering to celebrate her life will be held on October 21, 2023 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Gwen McCullough officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of services. Memorial contributions can be made to her family to assist in the expenses of her funeral. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Mattingly family during their time of loss.
