Obituary for Ann M. Allega Ann Marie Allega, 93 of Vincennes, passed away at 10:04 AM at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Ann was born August 24, 1920 in Vincennes, the daughter of George and Frances Scheefer Sheldon and was the youngest of eight children. She attended St. Rose Academy and beautician school in Indianapolis. She worked at the Greeks Candy Kitchen in high school and then as a beautician at the Princess Beauty Shop which was located above the old bus station in Vincennes. She later in life worked for 13 years in the laundry at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She married Charles �Reg� Allega and they made their life together until his death in 1976. Together they raised a family of six children and she was a faithful member of the St. John Catholic Church. She was an active quilter in the quilt factory at the church and she enjoyed making quilts and giving them to her family and friends. She made a quilt for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Tim Allega, and his wife Barbara of Charleston, SC, Dan Allega of Vincennes, John Allega M.D., and his wife Amy of Evansville, IN, Jerry Allega, and his wife Cindy of Evansville, IN, Beth Thomas, and her husband Jeff of Terre Haute and Nancy Drake, and her husband Paul of Terre Haute, IN. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles �Reg� Allega, her parents, 4 brothers, George Sheldon, Vincent Sheldon, Charles Sheldon and Leo Sheldon, 3 sisters, Esther Thompson, Alberta Zarafonetis and Gertrude Thomas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday Sept 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church with Fr. David Fleck officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery privately with her family. The family will receive friends Sunday Sept 1, 2013 from 5 to 8 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home where recitation of the rosary will be held at 7:30 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Christian Education Foundation.
