Obituary for Anthony L. Geis Anthony L. Geis, 88, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Saturday November 2, 2013 at 12:36 AM at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born January 16, 1925 in Decatur County, IN the son of Lawrence G & Rose Volk Geis. He was a graduate of Decatur High School and served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He married Louise Rumer on October 10, 1959 and they made their life together for 54 years. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, a 3-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, VFW, Harmony Society and enjoyed playing golf. He was a technician/installer for Western Electric, AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He is survived by his wife, Louise Geis, their children, Anne Kimmel, and her husband Mark of Greenville, IN, Rose Marie Geis of Louisville, KY and Carolyn Geis of Apple Valley, MN. Grandchildren, Mason Kimmel, Meredith Kimmel, Sydney Rose Geis, Benjamin Stevens and Rachel Hanson. His brothers, Fr. John Geis of Greensburg, IN, Albert Geis, and his wife Rosalie of Batesville, IN, sisters, Rita Ambrose of Anderson, In and Marian Raver of Anderson, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Paul Geis & Francis Geis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday November 5, 2013 at the St. John Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Fr. David Fleck & Fr. John Geis officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Military gravesite honors will be provided by the All Weather Firing Squad. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Monday November 4, 2013 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to St. John Catholic Church.
