Obituary for Audrey Fleck
Obituary for Audrey Fleck Audrey Fleck, 100, of Vincennes, passed away Sunday May 3, 2015 at 7:11 PM with her family at her bedside. She was born August 18, 1914 in Knox County the daughter of Anthony and Annie Plass Shappard. She attended St. Rose Academy and began her working career at F.W. Woolworth. On November 18, 1941 she married Herman Fleck and they made their life together for 51 years until his death on Sept 13, 1993. She worked at Montgomery Ward for 33 � years until her retirement in 1976. She was a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church, K of C Auxiliary, St. Anne Altar Society and was a devoted wife, homemaker and loved to cook for her family and friends. She was active in various church activities, playing cards, Euchre was her only choice. Audrey was a lady and she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She is survived by her sisters in law, Rita Shappard of Vincennes, Marge Lockhart of Lawrenceville, IL, Ruth Theriac of Naples, FL, her brother in law, Bob Fleck of Greeley, CO and several neices and nephews. A special niece, Gloria Kiefner, and her husband Darrel of Vincennes, took care of her day to day needs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Fleck, her parents, her brothers, Walter Shappard and Fred Shappard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday May 8, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Catholic Church with Fr. David Fleck officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home on Thursday May 7, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the St. John Catholic Church.
