Obituary for Betty L. Reitmeyer
Betty L. Reitmeyer, 85, of Vincennes, formerly of Indianapolis, IN, passed away Thursday January 2, 2020 in Washington, IN with her family at her bedside. Betty was born September 6, 1934 in Vincennes, IN the daughter of Lesley and Wilma Abel Chanley. She was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School and on September 4, 1955 she married William S. “Bill” Reitmeyer and they made their life together for 64 years. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and worked at St. Vincent DePaul Store.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Reitmeyer of Vincennes, their son’s, Richard N. Reitmeyer of Indianapolis, IN and Randal D. Reitmeyer, and his wife Judy of Indianapolis, IN. She was blessed with her grandchildren, Richard (Kelsey) Reitmeyer, Chad Reitmeyer, Sarah (Ricky) Chambless, Jamie Murphy and Jody Murphy, Her great grandchildren, Kayla (Luke) Ensinger, Amber Reitmeyer, Blane Reitmeyer, Candace Breen, Lauren Breen, Easton Chambless, Ansleigh Chambless, Jordan Barger, Jazmine Murphy, Tommy Houtchins, Camron Houtchins, Javian Murphy and T. J. Bond . Betty is also survived by a brother, Lesley Chanley, and his wife Mary Ann of Vincennes, IN, her sisters, Sue Allen and her husband Robert of Albuquerque, NM, Rosa Lee Provines of Bicknell, IN and Cheryl Chanley Jones of Bicknell, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lesley and Wilma Chanley, a brother, Daniel Chanley and a sister, Dixie Staley.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday January 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan P. Rastl officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A M until the time of services at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the St. Peter Lutheran Church. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Reitmeyer family during their time of loss.
