Obituary for Beulah M. Meek Beulah M. Meek, 97, of Bicknell, passed away Saturday May 18, 2013 at the Gentle Care Nursing Center at 7:15 AM. She was born April 9, 1916 in Daviess County, IN the daughter of William A and Pearl M Johnson Purcell. She married Delbert Duane Meek on July 26, 1937 and they made their life together until his death on June 24, 2000. She was a lifelong member of the Bicknell 1st Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Ronnie W. Meek, and his wife Jeannie of Scipio, IN, Mary Jane Slater, and her husband Ron of Owensville, IN and Martha Anne �Marty� Meek of Vincennes, IN. Her grandchildren, Rodney Meek, Julie Acalotto, Tammy Lynch, Robyn Coburn and Teresa Elliott, 16 Great grandchildren and 21 Great-Great Grandchildren also survives. She also leaves four very special people who became her extended family, Chip Shanklin, Rick Shanklin, Chris Shanklin and Steve Shanklin. Her caregivers in her last years that gave her the ability to remain independent were her granddaughters, Robyn Coburn and Teresa Elliott. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Delbert Duane Meek, her parents, 5 brothers, Guy Purcell, Walter Purcell, George Purcell, Dewey Purcell, Charles Lee Purcell and 2 sisters in infancy. Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday May 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with John McClure officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 22, 2013 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Gentle Care Nursing Center Activities Dept.
