Obituary for Daniel L. "D-CON" Ravellette
Daniel L. “D-Con” Ravellette, 73, formerly of Vincennes, departed this life on February 6, 2022. D-CON was born July 26, 1948, to Raymond E., Sr. and Shirley Thomas Ravellette. He attended Central Catholic High School and joined the United States Air Force on his birthday in 1966, serving honorably during the Viet Nam War. After his service he graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and worked as a Vincennes University Police Officer and later as a Deputy in the Knox County Sheriff’s Department. He also worked as a Security Manager for the K-Mart Corporation and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a Lifetime and Honorary Charter Member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club; a First Degree Black Belt and Instructor of Discipline in Hyokushinkai Karate; a former member of the Iron Cross Motorcycle Club; a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Walter Ravellette; three children: Thomas (Ronda) Ravellette, Michael Ravellette and Amy Ravellette, all of Terre Haute, Indiana; his sisters Rae Jean (Frederick) Armstrong of Grove City, Ohio; Yvonne M. St. Clair of Pendleton, Indiana, and brother Anthony “Will” Ravellette of Ft. Myers, Florida; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Shirley Ravellette, and his brothers Raymond “R.E.” Ravellette, Jr. and Timothy Ravellette.
Funeral services will be conducted at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home on Saturday, February 19 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend David Parman officiating. The family will receive friends after 10:00 AM until the time of services. He will be laid to rest in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Contributions in his memory can be made to the Disabled American Veterans. May he rest in peace.
