Obituary for Darlene J. �Ueding� Smith Darlene J. �Ueding� Smith, 77, of Bicknell passed away Friday November 18, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside. Darlene was born January 21, 1939 in Vincennes the daughter of John and Dorothy Lilly Ueding. She was a graduate of St. Rose Academy, Vincennes University and worked as a certified surgery tech at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She married Roger L. Smith on July 26, 1958 and they made their lives together for over 51 years until his death on Sept. 4, 2009. She is survived by her children, Deborah Carroll, and her husband, Doug of Vincennes, Christina Simmons of Muncie, IN, Cynthia Smith-Young of Vincennes, Roger L. Smith, and his fianc� Teresa Cooper of Bicknell, IN, and Angela Smith, of Vincennes. Her grandchildren whom she was very proud of, Ryan Carroll, Nicole Carroll, Adam Carroll, Jessica Simmons, Alexandria Carie-Kroeger, Matthew Blessinger and Gregory Blessinger. Her step grandchildren, Chad Cooper, Chris Cooper and Cole Cooper. She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren, Emma Carie, Dalton Carie, August Amara, Noah Blessinger, Celeste Blessinger and Irie Carroll. She is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy �Dottie� Clauss of Vincennes, Mary Ann Ruppel of Vincennes, Karen Cooper of North Port, FL Connie Grable, and her husband Butch of Petersburg, IN and Kathy Frey of North Port, FL, a brother, David Ueding of Covington, KY and a sister in law, Betty Ueding of Jeffersonville, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger L Smith, two daughters, Darlene & Dorothy Smith in infancy, her parents, John and Dorothy Ueding and her brother John Ueding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday November 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. David Fleck will officiate. She will be laid to rest in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday November 21, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Christian Education Foundation.
