Obituary for Dennis W. "Denny" Kidwell
Dennis W. "Denny" Kidwell, 70, of Vincennes, passed away March 23 2023 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. Denny was born September 6, 1952 in Vincennes the son of Eddie "Red" and Norma Martin Kidwell. He attended Lincoln High School and transferred to Airport High School in Carlton, MI and graduated in 1971 when his family moved to Michigan. He worked for Guardian Glass, worked with Rick and Bill Stevens Construction for over 35 years, and retired from the Vincennes Street Department. He held membership in the Moose in Lawrenceville, IL and loved to play pool, golf and bowling. He was a dedicated Chicago Cubs Fan, I U Basketball and most anything athletic. He married Sandra Boyer on November 12, 1972 and they made their life together for nearly 50 years until Sandy’s death on October 28, 2022.
Denny is survived by his family, April Thomas, and her husband Charlie of Fishers, IN, Kelly Coan, and her husband Christopher of Vincennes, IN and Ahlieah Lee, and her husband Travis of Upland, CA. His grandchildren, Charley Klaiber, Molly Crabtree, Grace Harding, Mackenzi Lee, Alijah Ann Coan and Trinity Coan. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Beau Hart, Elijah Crabtree, Andrew Klaiber and Oliver Crabtree. A brother, William Whipps of Vincennes, 2 sisters Mary Lee, and her husband Randy of Vincennes and Victoria Kidwell of Toledo, OH
Denny was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Kidwell, his parents, 2 brothers Ricky Kidwell, Thomas Kidwell and a sister, Betty Jean Whipps Stevens.
Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday March 30, 2023 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bryan Baker officiating. Denny will be laid to rest next to his wife, Sandy in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday March 29, 2023 from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Vincennes Cub League Baseball. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Denny’s family during their time of loss.
