Obituary for Dixie I. (Overbey) Rickard
Dixie I. (Overbey) Rickard, 71, of Vincennes passed away Saturday November 26, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside. Dixie was born August 17, 1951 in Sullivan County the daughter of Orlen Woolard and Edna Rose Overbey Collins. She received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She had formerly worked at Schott/Gemtron. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Dixie is survived by her children, Christopher Haynes (Jessica) of Petersburg, IN, Deena Haynes Sell (Brian) of Mountain Grove, MO and Joshua Rickard of Vincennes, IN. Her grandchildren, Jennifer Blann, Ashlee Haynes, Jordan Haynes, McKalaih Mitchell, Taylor Clymer, Hayden Rickard, Lakota Haynes, Knox Haynes, Aryes Rickard and Kizer Rickard and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her Mother, Edna Rose Collins, and her brothers, Gary Woolard (Pauline) of Princeton, IN and Jim Woolard (Rose Marie) of Vincennes, IN.
She was preceded in death by her father, a brother Larry Jo Woolard and a sister, Janet Rose Conover.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Robin Overbey officiating at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the IOOF Cemetery in Carlisle, IN at 11:15 AM. The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Dixie’s family during their time of loss.
