Obituary for Dorothy Jane Wilkes
Dorothy Jane Wilkes, 99, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Wednesday evening at the Gentle Care Nursing Center. Dorothy was born January 4, 1921 in Knox County the daughter of Dewey and Ruby Akers Porter. She retired from Crestview Nursing Home working as a Certified Nursing Assistant and she held membership in the Eagles Auxiliary. She was a homemaker and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by a son, Gary Pinkston of Vincennes, IN, Grandchildren of Dallas & Emogene Walker: Saundra (& Frank) Barnes, Craig (& Karen) Walker, Dallas (& Pam) Walker, Keith Walker. Great grandchildren: Robert Barnes, Kristy ( & Bob) Parker, Leslie Nettles, David (& Morgan) Walker, Anne Walker, Sara Walker, Caitlin walker, Peter walker, Sheryl (& Chris) Norton, Lisa (&Mike) Campbell. Great-Great grandchildren: Giovanni Stacy, Evan Nettles, Gage Norton, Nicole Sinnard, Daniel Sinnard and Patrick Sinnard. She is also survived by a sister, Georgianna Feagans of Flora, IL.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dallas Walker, her second husband, Clarence Pinkston and her last husband, Roy “Pete” Wilkes. Two sons, Bruce Pinkston and Dallas Walker. A grandson, Brad Walker also preceded
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Clarence Pinkston in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Thursday Church in her memory.
