Obituary for Edward E. Hooten
Edward E. Hooten, 73, of Bicknell, IN, passed away Monday May 2, 2022 at 1:20 AM at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Ed was born November 9, 1948 in Bicknell, IN the son of Grover and Bertha Riggle Hooten. He was a 1967 graduate of North Knox High School and worked at Vincennes University. He was affiliated with the Wesleyan Church, formerly a member of IOOF, Eagles, avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and the Sons of the American Revolution. He enjoyed all of his class reunions of the 1967 class of North Knox and had a deep love for the freedoms of United States of America. He was an avid guitarist, singer and loved all types of music.
Ed is survived by his sisters, Deanna Hooten of Bicknell, IN, Janice E. Gowen of Bicknell, IN and Rita D. Laslie, and her husband James of Lawrenceville, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Bertha Hooten.
As per his request funeral services will be private. He will be laid to rest next to his parents in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to North Knox High School Athletic Department. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel is honored to assist the Hooten family during their time of loss.
