Obituary for Ernest C. Parisien Jr.
Ernest C. Parisien, Jr, 76, of Vincennes, IN passed away Thursday November 18, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Ernie was born June 17, 1945 in Detroit, MI the son of Ernest C. Parisien Sr. and Marie Barnes Mills. He was a graduate of St. Francisville Ill High School and upon graduation he began his career with the pipe fitters union until he was called to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war as a Military Policeman, Helicopter gunner and co-pilot. When he returned from Vietnam he resumed his career with the Pipe Fitters Union Local 136 where retired after 43 years. He achieved 13 different certifications for his welding skills. He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed various activities during his retirement. Ernie married Karen Quarterman on June 12, 1983 and they made their life together for 38 years.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Karen Parisien, children, Kent Parisien, and his wife Charity of Odon, IN, Chuck Hitt, and his wife Michelle of Wheatland, IN, Mindy Pavitt, and her husband Bill of Vincennes, IN and Tami Merydith, and her husband Mike of Monroe City, IN. His special bestie, Summer Merydith, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Delores Parisien of Nashville, TN.
Services will be held privately with Pastor Jeremiah Motts officiating. He will be entombed in the Tower II mausoleum at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warriors in Ernie’s memory. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Parisien family during their time of loss.
