Frances N. Gray, 90, of Vincennes passed away Sunday January 13, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Frances was born September 5, 1928 in Kosciusko, Mississippi, the daughter of Thomas and Eula Mae Moore Jenkins. She married John R. Gray III on November 19, 1948 and they made their life together for nearly 50 years until his death on July 15, 1998. Frances was an active member of the Senior Citizens Center and she and her husband built the Southern Baptist Church in Bloomington, IN. She formerly was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Charlotte Baxter of Davenport, FL, Florice E. Gray, and his wife Linda L. of Vincennes, John R. Gray Jr., and his wife Linda I. of Lafayette, IN, Frances Mae Elizabeth (Billy) Gray of Ortenville, MN, Thomas Eugene Gray of Vincennes and Cathy Christopher of Vincennes, IN. 8 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 12 Great-Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Peg Gainey and Betty May Shadonn both of Apopka, FL.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and 2 brothers.


A gathering to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday January 19, 2019 at the VFW in Vincennes from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Frances’s family invites her friends to celebrate with them her Life Memories. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Gray family during their time of loss.
