Obituary for Freddie J. (Fred) Almy
Freddie J. (Fred) Almy, 82, of Vincennes passed away Friday October 12, 2018 at BridgePointe Health Campus. Fred was born July 20, 1936 in Vincennes the son of Garnet “Dick” and Velma Pearl Manning Almy. He was a Lincoln High School graduate and on September 4, 1965 he married Donna S. Kroeger and they made their life together for 53 years. Fred was a repairman and delivered pizza’s for Byron Bobe’s Pizza for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. He was a devout Christian and formerly attended St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Lodge for over 50 years.
Fred is survived by his wife, Donna Almy, their children, Jeffrey A. Almy of Spokane, WA, Penny J. Seegers, and her husband Warren of Elkhart, IN, and Stacy L. Williams and her husband Keith of Elkhart, IN . Grandchildren , Derek L. Almy, Brandi L. Almy, Jory A. Seegers, Diamond C. Kelly, Charles R. Almy, Brent T. Almy, Gwenivere V. Seegers, Coy P. Seegers and Zane F. Seegers and a great granddaughter, Bristol R. Almy. He is also survived by her sisters, Carolyn J. Goff of Oaktown, IN, Sarrah E. Berry of Sacramento, CA and Barbara J. Kohlhouse of Vincennes, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Loren R. “Dick” Almy and Jack L. Almy.
Funeral services will be celebrated Monday October 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Gravesite Military Honors will be presented by the All Weather Firing Squad. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Eagles Lodge.
