Obituary for George C. Yochum George C. Yochum, 87, of Vincennes, IN passed away Wednesday November 18, 2015 at 4:00 PM at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born November 28, 1927 in Vincennes the son of Alois A. and Bertha Speth Yochum. He was a high school graduate and his love of farming he worked on the family farm, he share cropped the Rex Thorne farm and he worked at the Farm Bureau COOP/CFS and various agriculture companies. He also enjoyed his mowing service and helping people. He married Rita Robinson on April 18, 1951 and they made their life together for over 64 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Rita Yochum, their children, William G. Yochum and his wife Sandra of Holdrege, NE, Christine Kidwell of Vincennes, IN and Esther M. Yochum of Indianapolis, IN. Their grandchildren, Todd Yochum, Greg Yochum, Rick Kidwell, Jessica Ward, Crystal Swearingan and Heidi Kidwell. He is also survived by17 Great grandchildren, his brothers, Lawrence Yochum and his wife Barbara of Henryville, IN, Robert Yochum of Vincennes and John Yochum and his wife Carol of Vincennes, and Ray Yochum, and his wife Shirley of Vincennes, a sister, Veronica West and her husband, Lawrence of Vincennes. He is also survived by several neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Genevieve L. Yochum, his parents, his brothers, Alois H. Yochum, Paul Yochum, Jim Yochum and a sister, Helen Ann Bouvy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday November 23, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Pascal Nduka officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday November 22, 2015 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home.
