Obituary for George L. Bluebaum George L. Bluebaum, 78, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 30, 2013 at 5:12 PM with his family at his bedside. He was born September 8, 1934 the son of Herbert J. & Madge Banta Bluebaum. He was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School and he was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder, Usher and Trustee. He served his country in the National Guard during the 1950�s and worked at Autolite/Prestolite for 15 years. On May 19, 1960, he married Carolyn Fowler and they made their life together for nearly 53 years. George loved his church family, going to Sunday School and enjoyed the church socials. He liked Indiana High School Basketball, watching sports on TV and old TV sitcom's & movies. He loved to look at new automobiles and the auto trader books. He saved the Collectable Automobile Magazines, collecting Die Cast model car replicas and enjoyed playing euchre with family and friends. He and his brother ran Bluebaum Brothers Shell Station on Old Decker Road in Vincennes and after they closed the station, they sub-divided the Herbert J. Bluebaum extended 2nd subdivision and began building and selling homes as G & C Contractors. George and Carolyn expanded into rental property along with their interest in homebuilding. He became a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lawrenceville, IL where he was active in various aspects of church life. He was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. George & Carolyn enjoyed traveling together and going to their grandchildren�s activities. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bluebaum, their children, Monte Bluebaum, and his wife Sandy of Dayton, Ohio and Lisa Foehner, and her husband Gary of Highland, IL. George was blessed with his dearly loved grandchildren, Eric Bluebaum, Ellie Foehner and Whitley Foehner. His brother and business partner, C. Larry Bluebaum and his wife Barbara of Vincennes, IN. He also will be missed by his nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Herbertine Orr and Loretta Allen. Funeral services will be celebrated Monday February 4, 2013 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Pastor J. Kevin Wychoff and Pastor Erich Knippa officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his parents in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home on Monday. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Our Savior Lutheran Church at the funeral home.
