Obituary for George Louis McKenzie George Louis McKenzie, 73, of Bicknell, IN, passed away Sunday June 24, 2012 at 6:50 AM with his family at his bedside. He was born Oct 26, 1938 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa the son of Floyd E. & Ruth Erickson McKenzie. He served his country during the Korean War in the U. S. Navy. He married Gladys L. Chadd on August 17, 1970 and they made their life together for nearly 42 years. He is survived by his wife Gladys L. McKenzie, their children, G. Marie Umholtz, and her husband Farrell, Georgia L. Hyler, and her husband Richard of Buckeye, AZ, Leona J. Ligget, and her husband Carl of Bicknell, IN, Floyd L. McKenzie of Bicknell, IN. Debra Brodrick, and her husband John of Hobart, IN. His grandchildren, Georganna McKenzie, John W. Umholtz, Nathan McKenzie, Farrell Umholtz Jr., Lori Rodriquez, Michael Umholtz, Summer Holbert, Richard McKenzie, Zachary McKenzie, George McKenzie III, Kathlina McKenzie, Daniel Brodrick, Jonathan Brodrick, Eric Brodrick, Ira Hyler Christopher Hyler, His great grandchildren, Marissa Rodriquez, Karisa Umholtz, David Umholtz, Marissa Hyler, Max Hyler & Arianna Hyler. He was preceded in death by a son, George L. McKenzie in 1994, his parents, and a brother. Funeral Services will be celebrated Wednesday June 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Pastor John Moreland officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery with military gravesite honors provided by the All Weather Firing Squad. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM Wednesday until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the North Knox Social Ministries.
