Obituary for Gladys M. Fields Gladys M. Fields, 92, of Vincennes passed away April 1, 2016 at the Gentle Care Nursing Center. She was born May 25, 1923 in Decker, IN the daughter of John Henry and Bertha Burke Midkiff. She was a graduate of Decker High School and during WW II she worked as a riveter at the Republic Airplane Factory in Evansville building the P-47 Thunderbolt. She married Marion �Barney� Fields and they made their life together until his death on May 20, 1994. She worked for the Vincennes School Corp at Franklin School as a cook and was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the American Legion, Eagles and Moose Auxiliaries. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Beth Ann Joary of LaPorte, IN, Janet M. Bridgewater, and her husband John of Mosinee, WI, Bruce Fields, and his wife Connie of Wheatland, IN and Posey Carie, and her husband Jack of Vincennes, IN. Her grandchildren, Eric Bridgewater, Jennifer Webb, Johna Schulz, Alissa Wayman, Tony Joary, Amanda Fields and Brian Fields. 13 Great Grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Fields, grandchildren, Jeff Carie and twin grandsons, Jeremy Adam and Jeffery Alan Carie, her parents and 10 Brothers and Sisters. Funeral services will be celebrated Friday April 8, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Good Samaritan Hospice.
