Obituary for Harley I. Like
Harley I. Like, 89, of Bruceville, IN passed away Wednesday afternoon at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Harley was born January 7, 1928 in Knox County the son of Elmer and Mamie Henderson Like. He served his country during WW II in the U. S. Army and after his service he began his working career having worked for many years as a route salesman for Coke a Cola and he retired from the Knox County Hiway Department. On December 24, 1950, Harley married Oma Bringwald and they made their life together for over 66 years. He was a member to the St. John Lutheran Church and he loved animals especially birds.
He is survived by his wife, Oma Like, their children, Cynthia Cerveny of Solsberry, IN, Cathy Hardig, and her husband Don of Wheatland, IN and Randall Like of Owensville, IN. His grandchildren, Stanley Berry, Anthony Like, Teresa Like, Jeremy Hardig and Danielle Hoalt. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald Hardig III, his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be celebrated Monday October 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Maxwell officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Military honors will be presented by the All Weather Firing Squad. Memorial donations can be made in his memory to Angel Lange for wildlife rehabilitation.
