Obituary for Helen E. Siewers Helen E. Siewers, 92, of Vincennes passed away Tuesday November 25, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born July 12, 1922 in Knox County in the Decker area the daughter of Edward & Josephine Rieser Holtman. She was a graduate of Decker High School and she graduated from the Vincennes Business College. She married Robert C. Siewers and they made their life together until his death in 1990. She formerly worked as a receptionist and office assistant to Dr. Riley. She also worked for the U.S. Census Bureau. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Anne�s Altar Society, and the Auxiliaries of the VFW, American Legion, and 40et8. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Betsy Brand of Indianapolis, Jeffrey Siewers, and his wife Barbara of Evansville, Joseph Siewers, and his wife Becky of Ft. Branch, Leo Siewers, and his wife Connie of Jasper, and a daughter in law, Remo Harris of Chesapeake, VA. In addition she is survived by her grandchildren, Jill Doades, Shannon Long, Sara Elliott, Jeffrey M. Siewers, Megan Scott, Jerod Siewers, Nathan Bredhold, Kelsey Siewers, Lauren Siewers and 13 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Siewers, a son, Robert C. Siewers II, her parents, Edward and Josephine Holtman and two brothers, John R. Holtman and Edward Holtman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Friday, November 28, 2014, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Ernst officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the St. Vincent Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Duesterberg Frederick Funeral Home with a rosary being recited at 12:15 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
