Obituary for Hilbert L. “Hib” Volle
Hilbert L. “Hib” Volle, 75, of Bicknell, passed away at his home with his family at his bedside July 31, 2017 at 3:30 AM. Hib was born October 14, 1941 in Freelandville, In the son of Ernest and Frieda Prior Volle. He was a graduate of Edwardsport High School and the Vincennes Business College. He owned and operated Volle Excavating and Backhoe service for many years along with his wife, Theresa Worland Volle whom he married on September 2, 1967 and they made their life together for nearly 50 years. He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with his wife and he served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and family was important in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Volle, their daughter, Sandy Garner, and her husband Cal of Carlisle, IN, grandsons, Casey Garner and Shane Garner. His is also survived by his sisters, Gertrude Weaver of Linton, IN, Anita Catt of Westphalia, IN and Betty Miller, and her husband Robert of Bicknell, IN. His Brothers and Sister in Law, Marietta Catt, and her husband Gene of Monroe City, IN, Dick Worland and C. Joe Worland Jr. both of Vincennes, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Roy Volle and Ernie Volle, a sister, Judy Brown, his Sisters in Law, Doris Volle, and Dorothy “Dot” Worland. His brothers in law, Jim Brown, Larry Weaver and Joe Marczak.
Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday August 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Minister Kirk Langston officiating. Hib will be laid to rest in the Bethel Church Cemetery in Freelandville, IN. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and prior to the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Good Samaritan Hospice.
