Obituary for Jill Jackson
Jill Jackson, 85, of Vincennes IN passed away May 23, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes with her family at her bedside. Jill was born August 15, 1933 in Washington IN, the daughter of George LeRoy and Rachel Lucille (Farley) Moore. Jill worked as the Knox County Health Nurse for 31 years, retiring in 2005. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1951 and from the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. Jill married the love of her life, Jim Jackson on June 28, 1953, and they made their life together until his death in 1994. Jill loved her family and friends, Christmas, Lincoln Homecoming, IU Basketball and Frank Sinatra. Jill was a member of Old Cathedral Catholic Church, had served on the Zoning Board for the City of Vincennes, the Salvation Army Board and as a Pink Lady at GSH. She held memberships with the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the Harmony and the Elks.
Jill is survived by her children Julie Beaman and her husband Mike of Vincennes, Jeff Jackson and his wife Pam of Evansville, and Jennifer Becher and her husband Gordon of Vincennes. Her grandchildren Jim Beaman and his wife Beckey, Rachel Beaman, Chelsie Garrett and her husband Curt, Donnie Becher, and Andrew Becher and fiancé Kaylee Lewis. Her great-grandchildren, Kaiser Beaman, Addison Beaman, Cruz Becher, CJ Garrett, Westin Laue, Cody Daffron, Paislee Lewis, and expecting another great-grandson. She is also survived by a great-great-grandson Brodey Daffron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a brother in infancy.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held Saturday June 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Old Cathedral Catholic Church with Fr. Donald Ackerman officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the Mass at the church. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Good Samaritan Hospice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Jill’s family during their time of loss.
