Obituary for James B. Hathaway
James B. Hathaway , 76, of Winslow, IN passed away Friday November 12, 2021 at 5:19 PM at Jasper Memorial Hospital with his family at his bedside. Jim was born March 31, 1945 in Winslow, IN the son of Bernard "Sweeney" and Beatrice Taylor Hathaway. He was a graduate of Winslow High School and worked for Snap-on Tool company as a tool maker. He was a member of the Muren First Church of God in Winslow, IN and he was an avid mechanic restoring lawn mowers and small engines. He specialized in Riding Mowers and gardening and working in the yard.
Jim is survived by his wife of 29 years, Marcia Sanneman Doll Hathaway, children, Roger Pancake, and his wife Candy of Winslow, IN, Gary Wayne Pancake of Winslow, IN, Kathy O’Hara and her husband Jeff of Bicknell, IN and Michelle Catt, and her husband Jeff of Vincennes, IN. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dustin O’Hara, Allyson Shots, Seth Shots, John Shots Jr., Eliana Pancake and Isaac Pancake. His great grandchildren, Kyle Hugh Shots, Lexi Shots and Ryan Shots. A sister, Alice Ann Tooley, and her husband Jack of Oakland City, IN.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Beatrice Hathaway and two grandchildren, Tyler O’Hara and Kayla O’Hara.
Funeral services will be celebrated at 4:00 PM Wednesday November 17, 2021 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Woosley officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Muren Church of God or Jasper Memorial Hospital Cancer Center. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist the Hathaway family during their time of loss.
