Obituary for James J. Pea James J. Pea, 62, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away unexpectedly Monday September 5, 2016. He was born August 2, 1954 in Vincennes, IN to Bill and Millie Ruppel Pea. He was a graduate of Rivet High School, Vincennes University and Indiana Wesleyan University having received a bachelor�s degree in Business Administration. He worked for Public Service Indiana/Duke Energy for over 41 years. After retirement he enjoyed being with his family. Jim was a member of the Plainfield Lions Club, St. Christopher Catholic Church and formerly Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Joan Pea of Indianapolis, IN; children, Dorothy (Andrew) Grabarz of Noblesville, IN, Paula (Jeremy) Fite of Lawrence, KS, Jamie (Matthew) Suhre of Lithia, FL, Ross (Sarah) Gerke of Indianapolis, IN and Drew (Faith) Gerke of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Caleb Grabarz, Tyler Grabarz, Carter Fite, Peyton Suhre and Max Suhre. He is also survived by his mother, Millie Pea of Vincennes, IN and brothers and sisters, Mike (Sherrie) Pea of Plainfield, IN, Kathy Fitzgerald of Indianapolis, IN, Karen (Charlie) Noble of Sullivan, IN, Debbie (Doug) Ostendorf of Vincennes, IN, Tom (Laurie) Pea of Westfield, IN, Donny (Christy) Pea of Vincennes, IN, Janice (Jim) Cates of Indianapolis, IN, Becky (Bill) Stenger of Vincennes, IN, and Billy (Stacia) Pea of Indianapolis, IN. He will be missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. He was preceded in death by his father and his first wife, Mary Jo Fredrick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday September 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. David Fleck officiating. He will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday September 12, 2016 at the Flanner-Buchanan Speedway Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM. Jim will return to Vincennes where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to time of service at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home in Vincennes, IN. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to American Cancer Society, St. Christopher Catholic Church or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
