Obituary for James R. “Chicken” Weiler
James R. “Jim” Weiler, 64, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away August 13, 2018 at his home. He was born March 13, 1954 in Vincennes the son of Robert F. and Elizabeth J. “Betty” Allega Weiler. He attended Rivet High School and worked in construction industry hanging and finishing drywall. He formerly was a driver for various transportation companies. He formerly was a member of the Lawrenceville Moose and St. John Catholic Church.
He is survived by Carol Pargin, son, Patrick Pargin and his wife Mary of Vincennes, IN, grandchildren, Staff Sgt Elleri Pargin USMC, Emily Pargin, Taylor Maddle and his wife Brooke a great grandchild, Kaylor Maddle. His brothers and sisters, Martha Weiler of Indianapolis, IN, Charles Weiler, and his wife Sue of Vincennes, Marie Worstell of Vincennes, Virginia German, and her husband Jim of Avon, IN, Monica Wentzel, and her husband Chuck of Whitestown, Paul Weiler, of Indianapolis and his wife Carol of San Diego, CA, Mark Weiler, and his wife Molly of Thornton, IN, Barbara Weiler of Indianapolis, IN, and Carl Weiler of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by a brother in law, August “Gus” Mayer of Noblesville, IN, several nieces, nephews and his exercise buddy, Jaxs.
He was preceded in death by a son Doug Pargin, his parents, a sister, Ruth Mayer and a brother in law, Doug Worstell and a nephew.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday August 25, 2018 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home.The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made American Kidney Fund.
