Obituary for James W. “Jim” Danhauer
James "Jim" Danhauer, 89, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Thursday November 19, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. Jim was born July 23, 1931 in Brazil, IN the son of Walter and Elsie Allen Danhauer. He was a graduate of Brazil High School and graduated from Indiana Central College. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army having attained the rank of Tech Sergeant. He began his career working for Western Electric and retired from the company. He was a member of the Bicknell French Club. He married Mable "Toby" Robinson on January 2, 1953 and they made their life together until her death on July 28, 2017. He enjoyed playing corn hole and any type of card game with family and friends. He also enjoyed working puzzles and going to the horse track and casino.
Jim is survived by his family, a son, Richie Danhauer, and his wife Lisa of Indianapolis, IN, his grandchildren, Kyle (Shannon) Danhauer, Ryan (Kaylee) Danhauer, Monica Danhauer, Darrin Danhauer, Amanda (Jeremy) Fields, Rebecca (Justin) Drake. His great grandchildren, Hadley Drake, Preston Mayhew, Samuel Mayhew, Timothy Rian, Kaeden Fields, Keegan Fields, Isaac Fields, Amaya Fields and Bryson Doughty.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Mable “Toby” Danhauer, a son, Randie Danhauer, a great grandson, Levi Mayhew, and his parents, Walter and Elsie Danhauer, his brother, Phil Danhauer and his sisters, Louise Swartz and Marie Wallace.
Private services will be held due to the Covid 19 pandemic. He will be entombed next to his wife, Toby in the Bicknell Memorial Mausoleum. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel is honored to assist the Danhauer family during their time of loss.
