Obituary for Janet D. Memering
Janet D. Memering, 87, of Bicknell, IN passed away Sunday January 9, 2022 at 4:20 PM at the Freelandville Community Home with her family at her bedside. She was born August 2, 1934 in Bicknell, IN the daughter of Joseph Trubac and Ruby Phillippe Nocus. She was a graduate of Bicknell High School and was a florist at Bicknell Flower Shop for several years. She was a member of Mariah Creek Christian Church and the Elks Auxiliary. She married Walter F. Memering on June 23, 1951 and they made their life together for 53 years until his death in 2004.
Janet is survived by her children, W. Joe Memering, and his wife Christy of Bicknell, IN and Kathi A. Memering of Ragsdale, IN. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter, a brother Michael Trubac of Bicknell, IN and a sister Rita Bowlin of Vincennes, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter F. Memering, her son’s John W. Memering and David Memering, her parents, Joseph Trubac and Ruby Phillippe Nocus and a grandson, Jesse Lee James.
The Family would like to express a special thank you to the Freelandville Community Home Staff for the excellent care of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister during her illness and all of their kindness during her final days.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday January 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Pastor Matt Hoffman officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Asbury Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Mariah Creek Church. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel is honored to assist the Memering family during their time of loss
