Obituary for Jeffery S. �Coach� Huxley Jeffery S. �Coach� Huxley, 68, of Vincennes passed away April 26, 2016 at5:04 AM at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born October 5, 1947 in Vincennes the son of Martin J. �MJ� and Mary Frances Braman Huxley. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, and was awarded a scholarship for his academic and baseball skills to Arizona University where he played and graduated with a BS in Mathematics. He began teaching at Vincennes University and went on to obtain his Masters in Mathematics at Indiana State University. He was a professor in the mathematics department at VU and with the help of Dr. Isaac Beckes, he formed the baseball program at Vincennes University. He coached until 1982 and not only at VU but in the Cub League where his father was instrumental in starting the league. He with his mother, was instrumental in the building Chicago Park where he coached the children�s baseball. He also coached Legion Baseball Teams, he was active in coaching and the formation of the IBA basketball League. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was accomplished in many endeavors. He married Kathleen S. Ridge on June 18, 1981 and they made their life together for 35 years that included all aspects of Baseball. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen S. Huxley, son�s Scott B. Huxley, and his wife Shawnee� of Vincennes and Shane P. Conner, and his wife Crystal of Chandler. A grandson, Payton Conner and a sister, Rose Mary Braman of Tucson, AZ also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bill Huxley and a uncle, Larry Braman. A Celebration of His Life will be held Saturday April 30, 2016 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home at 7:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
