Obituary for Jennie K. Dalle Ave
Jennie K. Dalle Ave, 100, passed away Saturday November 24, 2018 2:01 P.M. at the Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside. Jennie was born October 5, 1918 in Ragsdale, IN the daughter of Matthew and Antonia Sartori Dalle Ave. She was a 1936 graduate of Bruceville High School and she began her career in the office at Tresslar’s department store. She served as Postmaster of Ragsdale for over 20 years. She was a lifelong member of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and was proud to be the oldest active member of the church.
Jennie is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews that she thought of them as her children. She was interested in everything and anything they were involved in. She loved them so much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Antonia Dalle Ave, her brothers and sisters, John Dalle Ave, Henry Dalle Ave, Anthony Dalle Ave, Enrico Dalle Ave in infancy, Rose Conrad, Lena Dalle Ave and Giovanna Dalle Ave in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday November 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Philip Catholic Church with Fr. Timothy Tenbarge and Fr. Peter Oberto officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her family in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. At her request, Flowers be omitted and donations be made to St. Philip Neri Church or the donor’s charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick is honored to assist Jennie’s family.
