Obituary for John B. Wautelet Sr.
John B. Wautelet Sr. 88 formerly of Bicknell, passed away Friday July 28, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. John was born August 8, 1928 in Bicknell, IN the son of Arthur and Germaine Pique Wautelet. He was a graduate of Bicknell High School and he served his country in the U. S. Navy. He worked as a coal miner at AMAX Coal having retired in 1993. He was a devoted Christian, and formerly attended the Bicknell Nazarene Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, French Club and he was an avid fisherman, enjoyed NASCAR , college football and assembling 1000 piece puzzles.
He was married to Neva D. Williams and they made their life together for 43 years until her death on September 26 1992.
He is survived by his children, Nita J. Wampler, and her husband William of Chandler, IN, David L. Wautelet and John B. Wautelet Jr. both of Evansville, IN. A great grandson, Kristian Wampler also survives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva, a grandson, Michael L. Wampler, his parents and a brother Jules Wautelet.
Funeral services will be celebrated Monday July 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel in Bicknell with Pastor Glenn Turner officiating. John will be laid to rest in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery next to his wife. The family will receive friends on Monday July 31, 2017 from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Good Samaritan Hospital Cancer Center.
