Obituary for Jonathan R. “Bob” Hendershot
Jonathan R. “Bob” Hendershot, 76, of Vincennes passed away at his residence on Sunday July 22, 2018. Bob was born on July 4, 1942 in Vincennes, the son of Jess and Esther “Brown” Hendershot. Bob was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and was a former night manager at Harold’s/JayC’s for 40 years. He attended St. John United Church of Christ and was an avid fan of IU and the St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Bonnie “Burgener” Hendershot, son Mike Hendershot and his wife Dina, granddaughter Kaylee Buchanan and her husband Brock, grandson Cody Hendershot and his wife Megan, 3 great-granddaughters Addylynn and Lainey Buchanan, and Claire Hendershot. 3 sisters Bonnie Tooley, Ether Abel, and Peggy Flowers, 2 brothers Jess and Glen Hendershot, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert Hendershot, brother Jim Hendershot and sisters Marge Hobbs, Mary-Emma Wyant, Jackie Ballow and Caroline Davis.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday July 26, 2018 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Boorsma officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his son Rob, in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday July 25, 2018. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to St. John Untied Church of Christ.
