Obituary for Karen Ann Kerner
Karen Ann Kerner, 68, of Bicknell, IN, passed away Thursday evening at the Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside. Karen was born October 10, 1949 in Rockville, IN the daughter of William Archer and Glenna J. Caldwell . She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at various nursing homes and also worked as a home healthcare assistant. She was a member of the Baptist faith and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She married Kenneth A. Kerner and he preceded in death on June 3, 2005.
Karen is survived by her children, Suzie Hartsburg of Vincennes, IN, Richard “Richie” Kerner (Gabriale) of Bruceville, IN, Kristina K. Glosser (George) of Edwardsport, IN, and John Kerner (Maggie) of Bicknell, IN. Her grandchildren, Derrik Archer, Cassandra Cooper, Krissi Mahoney, Sean Cooper, Philip Bose, Tyler Bose, Dakota Lee Kerner, Zayden and Darrien. She is also survived by her father, William Archer, 11 Great grandchildren, her brothers Rev. Glenn Archer (Cindy) of Ragsdale, IN, Carl Van Patten (Debra) of Bicknell, IN, Leonard Van Patton of Huntingburg, IN, Tim Van Patton of Bicknell, IN, Steve Archer (Sherry) of Vincennes, IN, Charlie Archer of Oaktown, IN, Jack Caldwell of Washington, IN, her sisters, Jeanie Lee, (Steve) of Jasonville, IN, Sheril Hayes (Brad) of Jasonville, IN and Carmen Patrick (Billy) of Evansville, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth A. Kerner, her son Kenneth Edward Kerner and her mother, Glenna J. Caldwell Archer.
Funeral services will be celebrated Monday March 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel with Rev. Ray Telschow officiating. She will be laid to rest in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday March 4, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home and from 12:00 PM until the time of services on Monday. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Shriner’s Hospitals. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel is honored to assist the family.
