Obituary for L. Louis "Louie" Marchino
Obituary for Leonard Louis �Louie� Marchino Leonard Louis Marchino, 86, a former resident on Old Wheatland Road in Palmyra Township for over 50 years, passed away March 15, 2014 at the Lodge of the Wabash with his children and family at his bedside. He was born to Leonard H. and Catherine E. Steimel Marchino. He was a graduate of Fritchton H.S. and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He married Kathryn L. Rout on November 19, 1946 and they made their life together for nearly 68 years until her death on March 11, 2014. He worked as a salesman for Moorman Feeds, Bilskie Farm Supply, and retired from Veterinarian and Poultry Supply in 1989. He was a musician, having played in the Louie Marchino Family Band for over 15 years. He volunteered his time and musical talent at the Senior Citizens Center and various community events. He and Dr. William Stedman founded the Old Post Bluegrass Jam. He was a member of the Spirit Filled Gospel Band and recorded a gospel CD called �Come and Be Filled� and he was a published author, having written a book titled �Too Much Rain� in 2009. He was a member of Royal Oak Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his children, Larry Marchino, and his wife Betsy of Bruceville, IN, Diane Frederick of Vincennes, IN, Patrick Marchino, and his wife Vicki of Sullivan, IN, Donald W. Marchino, of Huntingburg, IN, Linda M. Wagoner, and her husband Dean of Vincennes, IN, James Marchino, and his wife Jane Ann of Newburgh, IN and Mark Marchino, and his wife Andrea of Newburgh, IN. His grandchildren, Scott and Laura Marchino, Jason and Jamie Frederick, Lisa Allen, Laura and Todd Chenoweth, Craig and Erica Marchino, Rick Marchino, Peter and Raven Marchino, Kevin Marchino, Sara and Sean Wirth, Jared Wagoner, Brian Marchino, Lauren Marchino, Kaitlyn Marchino and Austin Marchino, 17 great-grandchildren, his brothers, Charles �Tom� Marchino and his wife Helen of Fritchton, IN, Frank Marchino, and his wife Beverly of Danville, IN, Dale Marchino, and his wife Vickie of Washington, IN, his sisters Mary E. Helderman, and her husband Paul of Vincennes, IN and Millie Goldman, and her husband Robert of Vincennes, IN also survives. He was preceded in death by a his wife, Kathryn L. Marchino, on March 11, 2014, a son- in-law, Larry Frederick, a daughter-in-law, Vickie Marchino, and his parents, a sister Rita Booth and a brother, Danny M. Marchino in early childhood. Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM EST at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Ron Barnes officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery next to his wife. The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 18, 2014 from 4 to 8 PM EST at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home and prior to the services on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
