Obituary for Larry L. Petty Larry L. Petty, 74, of Vincennes, passed away at his home Thursday July 28, 2016 with his family at his bedside. He was born December 1, 1941 in Vincennes the son of Armor & Marcella Pettjean Petty. He was a graduate of Sumner High School, Sumner IL and Vincennes University. He worked for over 14 years with Texaco Refinery and retired form Indianapolis Power and Light. He married Wilma M. Primus on July 24, 1965 and they made their life together for 51 years. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Wilma M. Petty, children, Larry Christopher Petty and his wife Karen of Scottsburg, IN, Terry Lee Petty, and his wife Paige of Lawrenceville, IL, Celana Marie Cochren, and her husband Michael of Princeton, IN and Chad Edward Petty, and his wife Lori of Vincennes. His grandchildren, Kyli Petty, Grant Petty, Ethan Cochren, Sydney Petty, Alexia Petty, Dylan Petty, Chase Petty, Reagan Cochren and Seth Cochren. He is also survived by a sister Mary Ralston, and her husband Clifford of Lawrenceville, Il, his brothers and sisters in law, Sonny Primus, and his wife Sandy of Vincennes, IN, Merle Halter, and his wife Eileen of North Platte, NB, Randy Halter, and his wife Debbie of Daytona, FL and Emma Gartner, and her husband Larry of Lawrenceville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a 16 year old sister Susan Petty. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday August 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church with Fr. David Fleck and Fr. Gary Kaiser officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday July 31, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at the Duesterberg Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Rivet High School or the GSH Hospice.
