Obituary for Lee Ann (Thornberry) Whiting
Lee Ann (Thornberry) Whiting, 68, of Vincennes, passed away Monday April 3, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside. Lee Ann was born September 19, 1954 in Vincennes the daughter of Gerald and Joy Johnson Thornberry. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and she received a degree from Vincennes University. She was a dietician working with her parents who founded Crestview Nursing Home. She was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church in Lawrenceville, IL. She married Robert Whiting and he preceded her in death in December of 2019. Lee Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Lee Ann is survived by children, Sarah (Chris) Copp of Vincennes, IN, Craig (Amy Kitchell) Sims of Vincennes, IN, Christopher (Whitney) Whiting of Huntsville, AL, Brandon (Melinda) Whiting of Vincennes, IN, Drayden Whiting and Kayden Whiting both of Vincennes, IN. Her grandchildren, Courtney Welage, Ally Sims, Brilyn Yarber, Eli Sims, Bianca Whiting, Landyn Whiting, Meela Whiting, Beckett Whiting and Zoey Whiting. Her great grandchildren, Matthew Welage and Katie Welage. She is also survived by her sisters, Jo Ann (Matt) Power of Lafayette, IN and Cheryl Fields of Richmond, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Joy Thornberry.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday April 14, 2023 at 7:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Donaldson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Calvary Apostolic Church. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Lee Ann’s family during their time of loss.
