Obituary for Lisa Kathleen Alton
Lisa Kathleen (Abel) Alton, 72, of Monroe City, IN, passed away October 7, 2022. Lisa was born September 16, 1950 in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of Charles Jr. and Vada Robinson Abel. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and received a Bachelors' Degree from Indiana State University as a paralegal. She formerly worked as a dispatcher for the Knox County Sheriff’s office, and was a Community Corrections Counselor for Knox County. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, loved knitting, Horses and riding in her jeeps.
She is survived by her children, Andrew J. Grein, M.D. of Hendersonville, NC and Andrea Alton Mattingly, and her husband Denny of Monroe City, IN. Her grandchildren, Austin Alton, Zack Alton, Sammy Alton, Jasper Grein, Brylee Mattingly, Aria Malory and Ava Marie Lee. Her great grandchild, Wynter Carpenter. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Lori Buzan of Vincennes, IN, Linda Holscher, and her husband Chris of Vincennes, Donald L. Abel, and his wife Esther of Vincennes and David N. Abel, and his wife Heidi of Vincennes, IN.
Lisa was preceded in death by a son, Shannon Alton, a granddaughter, Summer Alton, her parents, Charles and Vada Abel and a brother, Gary Abel.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday October 15, 2022 at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM with the gathering to continue at the Vincennes Park Apartments, 1910 College Avenue in the Community Room from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral is honored to assist Lisa's family during their time of loss.
