Obituary for Louis E. Rusch Sr. Louis E. Rusch Sr, 87, of Vincennes passed away March 18, 2014 at Eastgate Nursing Center with his family at his bedside. He was born November 15, 1926 in Vincennes the son of Emile & Catherine Bauer Rusch. He married Elizabeth Keller on January 13, 1951 and he served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He was a lifelong farmer, a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church, Graduate of Purdue University Agriculture Course, Founding member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a former Commissioner for Knox County serving from 1986 to 1990, active in the Farm Bureau, having served as President. He served as a member of the Zoning Board for 17 years, he was a founding member of the board of directors of Wabash Valley Bank and served as director for Citizens Bank now Fifth Third, until 1996. He was a member of the Indiana Soybean Assn from 1995 to 2000. He was also involved in the National Soybean Assn having served as an assistant to the Executive Director. He held memberships in the American Legion, VFW and the 40 et 8. He was recognized by the Diocese of Evansville with the Brute Society membership for his devotion to his church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth �Betty� Rusch, their children, Linda McHargue, and her husband Chuck of Avon, IN, Karen Franklin, and her husband John of Cadiz, KY and Janet Houchin, and her husband Doug of Monroe City, IN., Larry Rusch, and his wife Jerri of Vincennes, IN and Debbie Rusch of Vincennes, IN his daughter-in-law. His grandchildren, Maggie McHargue, Martina Buher (Zac), Kelly Miller (Garrett), Keary Wilson (Mike), Matthew Houchin (Kelsey), Alex Rusch, Adrianne Rusch, Auggie Rusch, Teresa Haggard (Adam), Amber Wirth, Sean Wirth (Sara), Katie Rusch, Louie Rusch and Jill O�Neil. His Great-Grandchildren, Landon Buher, Mya Miller, Cooper Miller, Clare Wilson, Tyler Haggard, Jacie Haggard, Andrew Haggard, Tristan Wirth, Taleigha Wirth, Tanaya Wirth, Jaxon Wirth, Ella Wirth, Connor O�Neil, Finnegan O�Neil and Anya O�Neil and a sister, Clara Moore of Sutter, CA, also survive. He was preceded in death by two sons, Louis Rusch Jr and Timothy Rusch, his parents, brothers, Joe Rusch, Richard Rusch and Emile Rusch in infancy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday March 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Kaiser and Deacon Earl Ruppel officiating. He will be laid to rest in the St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday March 23, 2014 at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM.
