Obituary for Lucille G. Bailey
Obituary for Lucille (Lane) Bailey Lucille G. (Lane) Bailey, 87, of Vincennes, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at her residence. She was born April 9, 1925 in Knox County the daughter of Lawrence & Emma Holscher Lane. Lucille worked at various stores on Main Street. She retired from Hamilton Glass with 22 years of service in 1990. She married George E. (Bud) Bailey on June 25, 1952 and they made life together for 37 years until his death on May 12, 1990. She was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and good friend to many. She is survived by her children, Ellen Harper and her husband, Jim of Vincennes, Mark Bailey of Vincennes and Jeannine Davis and her husband, Rick of Vincennes. Six grandchildren, a sister Rita Shappard, and sister-in-law Hilda Lane all of Vincennes. She will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Edward M. Lane, sisters Mary Helen Halter and Dorothy F. Miller and a brother and sister in infancy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday June 15, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. John Schipp officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday June 14, at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM. Recitation of the rosary will be conducted at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Good Samaritan Hospice program. The family would like to thank Dr. Gerry Hippensteel and Dr. Phil Bacidore, Good Samaritan Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospice staffs and D&S Ambulance for their care of our Mother.
