Obituary for Lynda Kay Parker
Lynda Kay (Chambers) Parker, 83, formerly of Bicknell, IN, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday morning March 3, 2022 with her family at her bedside. Lynda was born August 30, 1938 in Bicknell, IN the daughter of John Lyle and Rachel J. Harris Chambers. Linda was a graduate of Bicknell High School and continued her education receiving a degree in Nursing from Deaconess Hospital, retiring in 1990. She was a proud member of Bicknell United Methodist Church, formerly serving as Trustee and former President of the Board. She was a member of the Fortnightly, Jobes' Daughters' and Eastern Star. Lynda married Jackie L. Parker on October 19, 1962 and they made their life together for 59 years until Jack's death in November of 2021
Lynda is survived by, their children, Anne R. Wood, and her husband Barry of Evansville, IN, Jack L. Parker Jr. and his wife Pam of Greenfield, IN, and Jon C. Parker, and his wife Staci of Lewisburg, TN. Her grandchildren are Ashley Fischer, Wyatt Parker, Brennan Parker, Robert Wood, and Leann Hancock. Great grandchildren, Mia Fischer, Jax Parker, Chelsea Fischer, Bryce Fischer, Hayden Wood, Mason Wood, McKenzie Hancock,. She is also survived by a brother, M. Thomas Chambers, and his wife Patricia of Martinsville, IN and a sister, Brenda L. Flickinger of Bicknell, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Parker, her parents, John and Rachel Chambers, a brother John Harris and a sister Virginia Junkins.
Funeral services will be celebrated Monday March 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Pastor John Moreland officiating at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel in Bicknell. She will be laid to rest in the Asbury Chapel Cemetery next to her husband. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.
