Obituary for Marie A. McRae Marie A. Cordeau McRae, 94, of Vincennes, passed away Sunday evening at the Gentle Care Health Center. She was born March 4, 1919 in Indianapolis, IN the daughter of Frank & Flora Hess Cordeau. She served as deputy Assessor for Knox County for over 22 years and she held membership in the Old Cathedral Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, 40 et 8 Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of St. John. She married William C. McRae on June 28, 1952 and they made their life together for 61 years. She is survived by her husband, William C. McRae, her granddaughter, Linda M. Stearns of Salt Lake City, UT, a great-grandson, George Stearns of Salt Lake City, UT, her sisters, Helen Brittingham of Ormond Beach, FL and Alice Harper of Vincennes, IN. She will be missed by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Helderman, her parents, a brother, Francis J. �Joe� Cordeau, her sisters, Roberta L. Williams, Jeanie Dunt and Charlene Cox. Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday January 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Fr. John Schipp officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Gentle Care Health Center, G.S.H. Hospice or the Old Cathedral Maintenance Fund.
