Mark Allen Murphy, 62 of Spottsville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2022. Mark was born on June 22, 1960 to Eugene and Barbara Murphy in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Mark was a simple man, some would describe him as colorful….with a big heart, zest for life and people close to him. He lived an adventurous life, traveling and living many places before returning to his birth state of Kentucky. Always an entrepreneur, he enjoyed many successful years self-employed at Murphy’s Flooring. He loved the outdoors, hunting, all kinds of animals, his dog Murphy and finding great buys at garage, yard sales on online auctions. His passion however was fishing. He got great pleasure in teaching others how to fish and to experience the same joy he did. If he was not working, you could always find him on the river, smiling with fishing rod in hand. His favorite prayer was, The Fisherman’s Prayer
God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day.
When it comes to my final cast, I then must humbly pray.
When in the Lord’s safe landing net, I’m peacefully asleep.
That in his mercy I be judged as big enough to keep.
