Marty Alan Ashby, 50, of Bicknell, IN, passed away December 10, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. Marty was born November 29, 1969, in Vincennes the son of Prentiss H. “Butch” and Joy McDonald Ashby. He was a graduate from North Knox High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1989 to 1993. He was employed by Indianapolis Power & Light and attended the Mariah Creek Church. He was a member of the French Club and a devoted father, son, and brother.
He is survived by his children, Kristi Sanders and her husband Tyler, of Bicknell, IN; Kaitlyn Ashby, of Vincennes, IN; and Michael Ashby, of Sanborn, IN; his mother, Joy Ashby, of Bicknell, IN; a brother Jonathan W. Ashby, and his wife Regina, of Kokomo, IN; and a twin brother Mark A. Ashby and his wife Heather, of Wadesville, IN. He is also survived by a special Aunt, Donna Ashby of Bicknell, IN., his nephews Ethan and Levi, his nieces Mason and Samantha. A great-nephew and a great-niece also survive.
Marty was preceded in death by his father, Prentiss “Butch” Ashby, and a nephew, Daniel.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw Chapel in Bicknell, with Pastor Kathy Stephens officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Carlisle IOOF Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Parkinson Disease Foundation. Duesterberg-Fredrick Wampler Shaw is honored to serve the Ashby family during their time of loss.
